PROJECT SUMMARY

AECOM and Oasis West Realty hired Uni-Systems, LLC and Eide Industries, Inc. to assist architects with the design-build of a Retractable Canopy System for The Rooftop by JG, located atop the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. The primary challenge for the new trellis canopy was to provide retractable shade and heating coverage over the popular outdoor rooftop dining and lounge area 12-stories above grade. The solution was to fabricate and install an En-Fold Retractable Motorized Canopy System onto an engineered Steel Trellis Frame Canopy with Radius Ends using a 350-Ton Grove Crane. The successful implementation of the retractable shade system provides expansive protection from the elements for guests to enjoy signature cuisines and cocktails, while taking in spectacular views of the Los Angeles skyline.
